Both Okina and Grove recognised at European Product Design Awards
The team at Studio William is celebrating after picking up not one, but two, European Product Design Awards.
The new Studio William pattern Okina, and the Grove buffet tongs series – a range of 11 items – were both awarded the European Product Design Award under the Professional Catering product category.
Grove buffet tongs are a range of specialist tongs designed for enhancing food presentation, for all-day-dining and buffet settings in high-end hotels and restaurants. Studio William explain that ergonomic features create positive user interactions, while the organic forms of the tongs add to the interior presentation and atmosphere of the venue.
Meanwhile, Okina is the physical embodiment of Yin and Yang, light and dark. Two contrasting knife designs form part of one contrasting collaboration – the Orient-inspired curvaceous knives and the European minimal straight knives. Interestingly, Okina allows restaurants to change the aesthetic of the table setting for lunch and dinner services, though the switching of knife designs, while using the same forks and spoons.
