Serax has produced a new series of vases – Billy – by in-house designer Marie Michielssen.
Since venturing into ceramics, Marie released the intuitive Helena vases and the Catherine lamp and worked on an extensive line of tableware.
The Billy vases have evolved into a wonderful mix & match of points that become spheres of oblique and horizontal lines. Marie first made them small, then ventured towards the larger version. Hand-moulded from the abdomen, but always with a mathematical basis, which is typical for Marie. Finally, the name reflects the playfulness of the collection.
“The shapes for the Billy vases had been in my head for a long time, but it took a while to create them. I waited for the right time,” adds the designer.
