Staro Barnyard and African Safari Gilded are fresh for autumn 2020
Artel is bringing two new collections forth for autumn 2020 – Staro Barnyard and African Safari Gilded.
Staro Barnyard is a merging of Artel’s two most popular ranges – the Staro motif and Barnyard which depicts 10 barnyard animals.
Available either individually or as a set of 10 glasses, each motif in the collection features an exquisitely hand-engraved image of a typical barnyard creature set against a background of timeless design elements – including circles, stars, and leaves – that draws inspiration from the Biedermeier period of the early 1800s.
Staro Barnyard was actually created by special request for an established client, Biscuit Home in Houston, Texas. The store’s owner wanted a set of glasses for her charming rural farmhouse, which was featured in Architectural Digest in 2018, but was having trouble deciding which of the two motifs she preferred and asked Feldman whether they could be combined.
“We’ve never entertained such a request before,†says Artel’s Karen Feldman, “but in this case it seemed like it would work beautifully. In fact, the result of juxtaposing these two very different styles was so fabulous that we decided to make it publicly available, and I’m certain our fans will love it as much as we do!â€
Meanwhile, Artel has updated it popular African Safari range with African Safari Gilded.
Each piece is hand-gilded with either 24-carat gold or genuine platinum, taking the uniqueness of the original designs to an entirely new level of opulence.
“You can never have too much gold!… We’ve been receiving more and more requests lately for gilded editions of motifs,†Karen says, “so we wanted to respond with something truly fabulous. The unique juxtaposition of production techniques used to create the original African Safari motifs has been such a hit with our clients that it just seemed like a natural choice to give this collection the Midas touch.â€
Offered exclusively in clear crystal or smoke, motifs in the African Safari Gilded collection are available either individually or as 8-piece or 10-piece barware sets.
