Vista Alegre strengthens its connection to art, design and leading figures in contemporary culture with the launch of Niemeyer, a new collection developed in partnership with the Oscar Niemeyer Foundation, paying tribute to the thinking and creative universe of one of the most influential architects of the 20th century.
Comprising a set of six collectible decorative plates, the collection translates some of Oscar Niemeyer’s most emblematic illustrations onto
porcelain, accompanied by brief texts written by the architect himself. Each piece has its own title: Eternal Feminine, Geography of Eden, Poem of the Curve, She Landscape, Concrete Poem and Latin Veins. In each of them, the architect gives expression to two ideas that profoundly shaped his work: the curve – a central element of his architectural language – and the celebration of women, a constant source of inspiration in his creative imagination.
For Niemeyer, the curve represents freedom, movement and the organic beauty of nature and the female body – a vision that runs throughout his architectural and artistic output. This collection translates that philosophy into an object of contemplation, bringing together art, poetry and the excellence of Vista Alegre porcelain.
