Utopia’s new Forma gives matt tableware a twist

Matt tableware is a having a moment. It’s stylish, distinctive and bang on trend. However, there is an issue, and that is that matt tends to get marked more than gloss tableware does, so it needs to be treated more carefully – which won’t suit every HoReCa site, no matter how good it looks.

Now Utopia has launched Forma, a chic tableware that’s matt with a twist – it has a special low-sheen, satin-style glaze that makes the surface much more robust. The satin finish is equally suited for high end restaurants and more casual, mass market eateries.
Forma is a vitrified porcelain collection that’s available in three colourways, vanilla, charcoal and forest green. The design is smart and contemporary, with all the pieces having a crisp white edging to complement the low sheen glaze. There’s a comprehensive choice of pieces, including four plates, with diameters from 17cm to 26.5cm, and four bowls, from 12cm to 24cm. There’s also a 31cm x 17.5cm platter and a 9cm dip pot.
The simplicity of the design makes for a very modern feel, while the strength and wide choice of pieces and colours make Forma a versatile, practical range for busy restaurants. All the tableware is dishwash safe and the plates come with a five year edge chip guarantee.
The Forma collection has list prices starting from £3 for the smaller pieces and £6 for the larger ones. The larger pieces are packed in boxes of six, the smaller ones in boxes of twelve.
