Product focus: Georg Jensen’s Bloom Botanica
Georg Jensen’s Bloom Botanica – a collection of vases and candleholders by designer Helle Damkjær – launched earlier this year.
The tabletop accessories were created to complement the company’s 20-year-old Bloom collection, celebrating nature’s explosive power with the designer inviting us to embrace the exact moment when new life emerges from the soil after the long cold Scandinavian winter.Â
Each Bloom Botanica piece features steel leaves created to frame flower arrangements with a smooth, swirling movement.
In terms of the design process, Helle starts by hand sculpting pure white clay, a natural material she loves.
“Helle’s designs have a soul that clearly comes from the hands of a sculptor. She is able to give steel a softness and flow that is unique and elegant and continues her tradition in making some of the most iconic Georg Jensen collections,†says Nicholas Manville, chief creative officer at Georg Jensen.
