Dr Alexander von Boch-Galhau has resigned as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Villeroy & Boch AG at the end of the coming Annual Shareholders’ Meeting 2021 and will then hand over this function to Andreas Schmid. Dr Alexander von Boch-Galhau had held the Chairman position on an interim basis following the departure of Yves Elsen from the Supervisory Board at the end of 2019. He will remain on the Supervisory Board as a full member.

It has always been a constructive and goal-oriented cooperation within the Supervisory Board, with the Management Board and the employees. I look forward to continuing to help shape the future of Villeroy & Boch as a member of the Supervisory Board.”
At the Supervisory Board meeting to be held immediately after the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting 2021, Andreas Schmid will be proposed for election as the new Chairman on March 26, 2021. Mr Schmid was newly elected to the Supervisory Board at the last Annual Shareholders’ Meeting in 2020 as proposed by the shareholders’ representatives and has already been able to familiarise himself with the company and the tasks ahead. He has many years of international experience in corporate management, both on the executive side and on that of the controlling body. As an entrepreneur, he has already presided over various companies as chairman or president.
