Today, Monday 28 April, sees six talented young chefs battle it out to be crowned champion in the inaugural Plated competition, organised by G&G Goodfellows with TRUEfoods and supported by Costa Nova.
Michelin starred chefs Jason Atherton, Lisa Goodwin Allen and Spencer Metzger join Tableware International’s editor Mairead Wilmot on the judging panel, ably led by Paul and Valda Goodfellow with Mitch Mitchell, founder and MD of TRUEfoods.
The competition will be live streamed on G&G’s Instagram on Monday 28 April from 11am. Plated was open to young chefs aged 30 and under in the UK and boasts a £10k prize pot consisting £7,500 cash, an expenses paid trip to Costa Nova’s Portugal plant, a Michelin-stared dining experience, and a photoshoot in Portfolio 7.
The first live stream runs from 11AM – 11.30AM with chefs Monica Elena Duscu – @cordrestaurant by Le Cordon Bleu, Brayden Davies – @boxtreerestaurant and Hannah Sloane – @blackswan_oldstead going head to head.
Later in the day, another live stream runs from 2PM – 2.30PM as chef Sean-Paul Phippard – @restaurant_andrew_fairlie takes on Ajit Yadav – @corinthialondon and Reece Brady-Temple – @thegrandyork.
The winner of the Plated Competition and the £10K prize pot will be announced live at 3pm – again on G&G’s Instagram.
