For 170 years, Sambonet has been synonymous with hospitality, table culture and Italian excellence. To mark this important anniversary, the brand celebrates its heritage by reintroducing an iconic early 20th-century design: the San Marco collection.

Introduced in the mid-20th century to some of Italy’s most prestigious homes and restaurants, the San Marco collection helped define the codes of table elegance, becoming a benchmark for post-war Italian silverware.

The new collection is based on a faithful reconstruction of the original design, for which Sambonet still preserves the historic 1948 moulds. Inspired by 18th-century Venetian tradition, its elegant and balanced design is distinguished by unique details, including a wide handle, a three-tine fork and the elegant silhouette of the knife with its sabre-shaped blade. Today, San Marco is available both in its classic silver-plated version and in a contemporary stainless-steel edition.

San Marco embodies Sambonet’s entire industrial and artisanal heritage, a legacy built on values, design research and innovation. This journey continues today thanks to the investments of the current ownership, which since 1977 has been promoting Italian craftmanship and manufacturing excellence on an international scale. In this 170th anniversary year, this legacy has been further recognised through the brand’s admission to the prestigious Altagamma association.
