Lifetime Brands debuts premium Mikasa Black Label at New York Tabletop Market

European-crafted dinnerware and glassware paired with exclusive 18/12 flatware targets high-end consumers

Lifetime Brands is introducing a new premium tabletop collection designed for consumers seeking elevated, European-inspired design. Mikasa Black Label spans dinnerware, glassware, and flatware, with the collection blending European craftsmanship with modern styling and proprietary materials to deliver a refined, design-driven assortment. The collection will be presented in upscale gift packaging and distributed through bridal registries and specialty retailers, reinforcing its premium positioning.

“Mikasa Black Label represents a natural evolution for the brand,” said David Mackrell, dinnerware division president, Lifetime Brands, Inc. “We’re seeing strong demand for tabletop products that feel elevated and usable; products that bring a sense of occasion to everyday dining while delivering on quality and design. This collection answers that demand through refined craftsmanship, curated materials, and contemporary silhouettes.”
Mikasa Black Label dinnerware and glassware is sourced exclusively from Portugal, a region renowned for its rich ceramic heritage. Crafted from high-quality stoneware, each piece features artisanal, hand-finished characteristics, creating subtle variations that make every piece unique. The initial assortment highlights reactive-glaze finishes with a focus on depth and dimension. The Ashen dinnerware collection features a deep black glaze and sculpted silhouette for a bold, modern statement. Terra Grey offers a soft grey glaze with speckled texture and a subtle halo rim for a more understated, versatile look.

Mikasa Black Label introduces a new material innovation in flatware with the use of 18/12 stainless steel, a composition not currently available in the category. Manufactured in Vietnam, this material serves as a key differentiator in the flatware offering.
“Flatware has long been dominated by 18/10 stainless steel,” says Chris Wile, metals division president, Lifetime Brands, Inc. “By offering 18/12, we’re providing a meaningful upgrade. The elevated nickel content in 18/12 enhances corrosion resistance, improves long-term durability, and delivers a brighter, more reflective finish compared to standard 18/10 flatware.”
With Mikasa Black Label, Lifetime Brands is targeting consumers trading up to fewer, higher-quality pieces across the tabletop category. The collection bridges everyday functionality with elevated aesthetics, aligning with continued interest in home entertaining and design-driven purchases.
“Mikasa Black Label is about elevating the art of the table,” according to Mackrell. “It brings together heritage, craftsmanship, and modern living in a way that feels both relevant and aspirational.”
The full assortment of Mikasa Black Label dinnerware, glassware, and flatware will be on display in the Lifetime Brands showroom during New York Tabletop Market April 14-17, 2026.
