Tesco to update BHETA members on packaging policy

Tesco’s senior packaging manager, Paul Earnshaw, will speak to BHETA members on the leading supermarket’s plastic packaging targets and strategy. The webinar will take place on September 18th at 10.30am and is the latest of its series of events focussing on packaging legislation, packaging tax, extended producer responsibility and carbon footprint.

Paul will bring delegates up to speed on Tesco’s progressing plans in their area, which will affect all suppliers, regardless of supplier status. This will include an update on the company’s ‘Red / Amber / Green’ packaging approach. Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to pose questions directly to Paul.

BHETA’s marketing director, Steve Richardson commented, “Sustainability is a critical topic from every point of view and packaging solutions are a big part of the solution, and of the debate. Tesco is a pioneer in this area so it will be very useful for all supplier companies to see how its strategy is evolving – not least as a benchmark for others. BHETA is keen to help members get packaging right for the future, and insight from Tesco an excellent way to ensure ahead of the game.”
While this is a BHETA member-only event, non-members who would like to attend can apply to do so, subject a potential membership chat with Steve Edwards, BHETA’s sector manager for DIY and garden, or Seema Grantham, BHETA’s sector manager for housewares and small domestic appliances. The webinar will also be available to watch after the event in the member area of the BHETA website. Non-members who are interested in watching the webinar should contact BHETA for details at info@bheta.co.uk.
