Royal Delft has launched a new tableware collection based on the centuries-old tradition of landscape painting.
The Royal Delft Dutch Dawn Tableware Collection brings the mystique of early morning to the dining table. Inspired by the unique atmosphere of each of the four seasons in the Netherlands, the collection captures the captivating tranquillity of the Dutch countryside at dawn.
Each individual piece in the Dutch Dawn set features a distinct element of the Dutch landscape. Collectively, the 10 pieces form a magnificent Delft Blue artwork. Nature takes centre stage on the dinner and pasta plates, while the dessert plates depict urban scenes within the painting. The mug is adorned with a beautiful wraparound scene of grassland shimmering with dew. When combined with the tone-on-tone decoration on the charger and large dish, the designs strikingly reflect the mystical aura of the Dutch landscape at sunrise.
Alongside iconic floral decorations, Royal Delft has long celebrated the Dutch countryside in its transcendent landscape paintings, which feature extensively throughout the entire Royal Delft collection. The specific landscape depicted on the Dutch Dawn Tableware Collection was created by Royal Delft’s master painter and is based on a tile painting by Frytom. In 2021, the Royal Delft Museum presented ‘Van Ruysdael to Frytom’, a stunning exhibition highlighting the impact landscape painters had in Delft in the 17th century.
Dutch Dawn is available via www.royaldelft.com, in the Royal Delft shops in Delft, and from retailers.
