Dutch designer Annebet Philips makes her debut at Serax with a remarkable coffee and tea set entitled Carte Blanche. Annebet translated classic cups and saucers into simple, naïve shapes made of cardboard—the same material often used for the first quick prototypes.

These playful cardboard shapes were then quite literally transformed into porcelain, with the spontaneity of the initial designs fully preserved. In fact, all the fold lines and uneven edges were retained and are accentuated with hand-painted, deliberately irregular lines.
The result is a uniquely playful collection that evokes the magic of the very first idea: the moment when, as a designer brimming with inspiration, you begin cutting your first models from cardboard; the moment of the blank page, the untouched sheet, when anything is still possible.

In short: Carte Blanche. The set includes espresso cups, a cappuccino cup, a tea mug with matching saucers, a milk jug, and a teapot.
