Denby is calling on the industry, and the public, to support its petition calling on the government to protect British manufacturing jobs as they seek 100,000 signatures.
The petitions committee has approved Denby’s petition where they ask the UK government to urgently review the ‘Supercharger’ scheme to include ceramics manufacturers. The scheme provides relief to energy intensive businesses in the UK, inclusion in this would help cut soaring industrial energy costs and support ceramics businesses, which are at the risk of imminent collapse without urgent intervention, as seen with the current situation at Denby.
In less than 24 hours, Denby reached over 10,000 signatures, but needs 100,000 “as soon as possible” for the matter to be debated in parliament.
In a statement Denby says: “Whilst our future is still uncertain, we truly believe if every person who has supported #SaveDenby so far could sign, then this could make a huge difference for the UK ceramics industry as a whole.
Please sign the petition and share with your family, friends and networks. Thank you for your support.”
