Alessi is continuing its journey of research and innovation in the world of design with a new series of objects that blend aesthetics, function, and storytelling through a dialogue between form, material, artisanal tradition, and contemporary vision.
The first chapter of Il Tornitore Matto by Alessi, launched by Alberto Alessi in 2023 in collaboration with Giulio Iacchetti, is further enriched: from the turned and stacked volumes of the Discolo cake stand by Federico Angi, to the evocative Compressioni ice bucket by Paolo Ulian, and the refined, precise decoration of the Edges tray/charger plate by Nika Zupanc. Moreover, Alessi’s extensive selection of cutlery sets is enhanced with poetic simplicity by the new Clivo set by Patricia Urquiola. Reflecting on the ritual of the dining table and the objects that accompany daily gestures, she also designed the Canale cutlery holder in stainless steel.

DISCOLO design Federico Angi, 2025
Available from May
Made entirely on a lathe, in green anodized aluminum, the Discolo cake stand by Federico Angi accompanies the centerpiece presented in 2023 dialoguing directly with its large-edged forms. The colored anodized aluminum introduces an element of industrial modernity to the home; at the same time the balance play on lathed and overlaid volumes echoes a classicist flavour style.

COMPRESSIONI design Paolo Ulian, 2025
Available from June
The Compressioni wine cooler enhances the first series of containers presented in 2023. With these objects, Paolo Ulian explored a new way of working with metal sheets, unveiling a unique form of expression. The objects in this collection are first lathed and then crushed to obtain their final shape, each one slightly different from the others. The folds created in the crushed metal add a charming regularity to the uniquely different pieces, and, as in the case of the wine cooler, showcase the natural reflections of the steel surface.

EDGES design Nika Zupanc, 2025
Available from June
Poetically sophisticated, the Edges collection presented in 2023 is enriched with a new element, a versatile charger plate that can also be used as a tray. Nika Zupanc returns to work with the iconic immediacy of a simple yet distinctive mark: the edge has a series of small holes reminiscent of lace, linked to one of the author’s personal memories, the blouse her grandmother wore in a 1940s photograph. An ornament that is more than just a decoration, it is a sign that creates a bond with the object, evoking emotions and recalling common imageries.
CLIVO design Patricia Urquiola, 2025
Available from July
With the Clivo cutlery with its precise style, fine ergonomics and solid construction, Japanese culture inspires Patricia Urquiola once more, after the Edo pan set. This set is the result of a study of plant-fiber kitchen utensils, and particularly the traditional Japanese bamboo tools. The name (from the Latin clivus, slope) recalls the gesture of carving, progressively removing material to obtain the desired shape. The collection took shape from prototypes hand-sculpted by a model maker working with the designer, with a thorough and meticulous search for detail. This creative gesture has thus translated into the visual sign that distinguishes the collection, a kind of indentation between the handle and head. The set includes all cutlery items – knife, fork, spoon and coffee spoon – along with a fruit knife and fork, a teaspoon and a dessert fork. The set is completed with a cake slice and salad servers.
CANALE design Patricia Urquiola, 2025
Available from July
Traditional tableware requires each place to be complete with all the utensils and accessories you need for a meal, almost imposing a vaguely etiquette-based solitude. The diners sit at their assigned place, indicated by a precise combination of cutlery, plates and glasses establishing individual boundaries. Through the Canale cutlery holder, Patricia Urquiola invites demolishing the limits of classic table settings, moving the cutlery to a single point in the center of the table, where everyone can reach them. This paves a new way, a focal point that becomes a communication channel, stimulating sharing and dialog. An highly theatrical object made of straight tubes that vibrate with reflected light, celebrating a new contemporary ritual.
