Denby’s new stoneware collection – Kiln Green – launches March 2023. Boasting an aura of tranquillity and serenity, the collection is inspired by nature and biophilic design. The calming colour palette of soft white and celadon shades of green combine to create stunning glaze effects across the collection.
The elliptical pattern used on the plates and bowls is hand-applied to each piece to create an organic look whilst on the taller pieces each is hand-dipped to create an ombre effect. All have their own identity but also layer beautifully together as a complete range.
Based on the popular Kiln shapes with organic asymmetrical serving pieces the hand-applied glaze effect gives each item of Kiln Green its own look and feel. Designed to make food look inviting as well as work as stunning home decor pieces, Kiln Green offers tactile glazes, characterful shaped pieces and simplistic beauty.
A Kiln Green dinner plate has a RRP of £19 and is available as a single item or as part of a boxed option for gifting, all in recyclable packaging. In addition to tableware pieces there are gift boxed home fragrance pieces, vases and accessories such as placemats and coasters.
Pattern design manager, Nicola Wilson explains her inspiration behind the design: “Kiln Green is designed to offer a thoughtful, restorative colour palette to the home. Inspired by the subtle tactility of washed sea glass and the calming colour palettes found in nature, I wanted the collection to bring harmony to any room in the house or garden. Trends have forecast a move to softer shades of green, evocative of the outdoors as they bring with them a sense of relaxation. The glazes – in soft white and celadon shades – merge and flow into each other, pooling in different places on both the flatware and holloware to give each its own identity, whilst still layering together beautifully. “
Intended to be used and enjoyed every day, Kiln Green is dishwasher, microwave, freezer and oven safe. Produced from local Derbyshire clay Kiln Green is made to Denby’s ethical and sustainability criteria.
